ADDITIONAL BENEFITS RIDERS

Are you looking for benefits in addition to the coverage you’re purchasing for a single trip? You can purchase riders that are designed for travellers who require coverage over and above our most comprehensive single-trip packages. There are two options you can choose from.

Additional Benefits Rider – Option 1

Have you purchased a single trip Deluxe Package, TravelCare® Package, Non-Medical Package or Travel within Canada Package, but need more protection? You can purchase this rider for additional benefits:

  • Transportation on Same Class Ticket Benefit
This covers the transportation benefits for the same class transportation instead of economy class.
  • Subsistence Allowance Benefit Increase
Increases your subsistence allowance benefit to a maximum of $5,000 (with a daily maximum of $500) provided under Emergency Medical Insurance and Cancellation & Interruption Insurance.
  • Entertainment Benefit
If delayed beyond the scheduled return date, this insurance covers up to $100 for entertainment expenses to attend a ticketed event, such as a musical show, theatrical play or sports game.
  • Special Event Benefit
This insurance protects you if you are planning to attend a scheduled event such as a wedding, sporting event or conference, and your departure is delayed. It will cover up to $600 for additional transportation costs of an alternate route, on a scheduled carrier, to the planned destination so you can arrive on time.
  • Increase Delay of Baggage & Personal Effects Benefit
Increases the maximum sums payable under Baggage & Personal Effects Insurance up to $750.

Some limitations apply, see our Travel Insurance Policy Brochure for details.

Additional Benefits Rider – Option 2

If you’ve purchased a single-trip package, you can enhance your coverage with the following benefits:

  • Cruise cancellation (risk #35) includes both the cancellation of and the schedule change to your cruise, tour or travel package, provided the cancellation or schedule change does not include supplier default.
  • Cruise cancellation benefits are increased to pay up to $100 for subsistence allowance and up to $1,500 for the non-refundable prepaid air fare, which joins to or departs from the original sea/land arrangements and are not part of your cancelled cruise or tour package.

Some limitations apply, see our Travel Insurance Policy Brochure for details.
