Emergency Medical Insurance Claim

 

How to Make an Emergency Medical Insurance Claim

If you have returned home from your trip as a result of an emergency medical condition, you will need to submit an Emergency Medical Insurance claim.

Select your province of residence from the list below for instructions on how to submit your claim:

Residents of British Columbia
Residents of Newfoundland & Labrador
Residents of Quebec
Residents of Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, or the Yukon


Residents of British Columbia

You will need to complete the following steps to submit your claim:

  1. Complete and sign the Claim and Authorization
    Form 
    . Mail the form, along with all applicable documents outlined below, to the claims office:

    RBC Insurance Company of Canada
    P.O. Box 97, Station A
    Mississauga, Ontario L5A 2Y9
  2. As a resident of British Columbia, you'll also need to complete the appropriate provincial health claim form(s):

    Out-of-Country Claim Form (hospitalization) 

    British Columbia Medical Services Plan (MSP) Schedule A 
  3. Attach all original itemized bills and receipts to support your claim.
  4. Attach any medical records you may have been given at the time of treatment. For hospitalization claims, we require a complete copy of your medical records from the treatment facility.
  5. For Multi-Trip Annual plans, attach proof of both departure from and return to your province of residence. The type of proof depends on whether you travelled via airline or car.

Please note: Depending on the claim, RBC Insurance® may request more information.

Residents of Newfoundland & Labrador

You will need to complete the following steps to submit your claim:

  1. Complete and sign the Claim and Authorization
    Form 
    . Mail the form, along with all applicable documents outlined below, to the claims office:

    RBC Insurance Company of Canada
    P.O. Box 97, Station A
    Mississauga, Ontario L5A 2Y9
  2. As a resident of Newfoundland & Labrador, you'll also need to complete the appropriate provincial health claim form:

    Out-of-Province Claim Form 
    (Required if treated as an outpatient, either at a clinic or hospital.)
  3. Attach all original itemized bills and receipts to support your claim.
  4. Attach any medical records you may have been given at the time of treatment. For hospitalization claims, we require a complete copy of your medical records from the treatment facility.
  5. For Multi-Trip Annual plans, attach proof of both departure from and return to your province of residence. The type of proof depends on whether you travelled via airline or car.

Residents of Quebec

You will need to complete the following steps to submit your claim:

  1. Complete and sign the Claim and Authorization
    Form 
    . Mail the form, along with all applicable documents outlined below, to the claims office:

    RBC Insurance Company of Canada
    P.O. Box 11472, Station Centre Ville
    Montréal, Québec H3C 5N2
  2. As a resident of Quebec, you'll also need to complete the appropriate provincial health claim form:

    Application for Reimbursement 
  3. Attach all original itemized bills and receipts to support your claim.
  4. Attach any medical records you may have been given at the time of treatment. For hospitalization claims, we require a complete copy of your medical records from the treatment facility.
  5. For Multi-Trip Annual plans, attach proof of both departure from and return to your province of residence. The type of proof depends on whether you travelled via airline or car.

Residents of Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, or the Yukon
