Travel insurance you can purchase for a particular need

If your plans don't require the extra protection of our comprehensive travel insurance packages, we offer several options that provide coverage for specific situations only:

You are on: Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance

Financial protection for when your travel plans are cancelled or disrupted.

If an illness, injury or another unexpected event forces you to cut your trip short or cancel your plans entirely, you could lose what you prepaid for your non-refundable travel arrangements and possibly incur extra hotel, transportation and other charges.

With our Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance, you're protected in three important ways against a wide range of situations:

  • Before Departure Insurance covers the non-refundable portion (such as deposits or cancellation charges) of your prepaid travel arrangements. It also allows you to recoup any cancellation penalties that a transportation carrier or tour operator may charge you.(1)
  • After Departure Insurance covers the costs you would incur if you had to return home earlier or later than you had originally planned. It also reimburses you for any non-refundable portions of unused, prepaid travel arrangements.(1)
  • Subsistence Allowance Insurance reimburses you for extra expenses that result from one of the specified situations occurring. Such expenses can include your commercial accommodations and meals, essential telephone calls, internet usage fees and taxi fares (or rental car in lieu of taxi fares) up to the specified maximum for your policy.(1)

Note: We strongly recommend that you purchase this insurance at the time you pay your initial travel deposit.

For complete coverage details, limitations and exclusions, see the Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance policy document:
