To access your ID card:

• Sign in to Online Insurance.
  By selecting More and navigating to the Manage Health Benefits option on the Home Page, you will be sent to your Health Dashboard.
  From the Health Dashboard, navigate to the Plan Member Profile section at the top right side of the page, select your Profile, select Account, and from the Coverage tab, select the ID Card drop-down.

OR

• Download the RBC Insurance My Benefits app and sign in using your username and password. Once logged in, tap the “?” menu icon on the top left corner of the home page and select ID Card. To enable the ability to view your card without having to login, turn on “offline view”.

Inform your Plan Administrator or Human Resources department of any changes to your personal information (e.g. name, date of birth or language). This includes adding or deleting a dependent or changing your family status (e.g. from “single” to “couple” or “family”). Your Plan Administrator is also responsible for updating any changes to your role, salary or number of hours worked.

The pharmacy ratings are based on an analysis of drug claims data and the quality of care delivered by pharmacies. Higher ratings mean the level of treatment RBC Insurance plan members are obtaining follows the recommended treatment guidelines proven to improve health outcomes for specific common chronic conditions. It is important to note that the pharmacy ratings do not measure Google reviews.

Note: In the province of Quebec, the pharmacy quality rating search feature is not available.

If you do not have access to Online Insurance, you can call us at 1-888-769-2545 and one of our representatives will be glad to assist you.

Unless your benefit plan documents state otherwise, dependent children are covered to the end of the month in which their 21st birthday occurs, or the end of the month in which their 26th birthday occurs if they are a full-time student. For students, you must submit proof to your Plan Administrator on an annual basis that the dependent is enrolled full-time at an accredited college, university or educational institute.

You can use your Health Spending Account (HSA) for eligible health-related expenses such as:

• Deductibles or co-insurance payments for health and dental expenses

• Health or dental expenses in excess of maximum coverage amounts

• A wide range of other health-related expenses that are not covered by your health and dental plan, but qualify as a medical expense under the Canadian Income Tax Act

You can find a full list of eligible expenses on the Canada Revenue Agency website.

You can use the Drug Coverage Search lookup feature in Online Insurance or the My Benefits app to see if a drug is covered under your group benefits policy.

Sign in to Online Insurance. By selecting More and navigating to the Check Coverage Details option on the Home Page, you will be sent to your benefit details to check your eligibility. Upon selecting the Drug tile you will find a Drug Coverage Search tool that allows you to verify whether or not a drug is covered under your benefits plan. You can also find the tool through the RBC Insurance My Benefits app on your smartphone.

To begin your Drug Coverage Search, enter the drug name or Drug Identification Number (DIN). Then select the plan member from the drop-down menu. If the drug is eligible as a benefit of the plan, you will see ‘covered’. If the drug is not covered by the plan, you will see ‘this drug is not covered at this time’. If the drug requires authorization, a link to the form will appear.

To locate professional service providers in your area, you can use the Find a Health Provider lookup feature.

Sign in to Online Insurance. By selecting More and navigating to the Manage Health Benefits option on the Home Page, you will be sent to your Health dashboard. From the Health dashboard, select Find Provider. This feature is also available through the RBC Insurance My Benefits app on your smartphone.

If your provider is not shown, additional information may be required at time of claim. Call our health and dental claims line at 1-855-264-2174 to confirm a provider’s eligibility prior to receiving services.

To find out if your medication is still covered, call the health and dental claims line at 1-855-264-2174.

You can also use the Check Coverage Details feature in Online Insurance to verify whether or not a drug is covered. Sign in to Online Insurance. By selecting More and navigating to the Check Coverage Details option on the Home Page, you will be sent to your benefit details to check your eligibility. Upon selecting the Drug tile you will find a lookup tool that allows you to verify whether or not a drug is covered under your benefits plan. This is also available through the RBC Insurance My Benefits app on your smartphone.

If you’ve submitted a claim that was denied but was previously covered by your employer before switching to RBC Insurance, you may still be able to have your medication or condition added to the RBC Insurance group benefits plan. You will need to provide an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) or approval letter from your previous carrier showing that the claim was previously covered. This proof cannot be older than 6 months.

Prior to travelling, review your Employee Benefits Booklet to understand what your benefits cover. Your Group Benefits ID card contains contact information you’ll need in the event of an emergency, so be sure to keep it with you while travelling.

You may be eligible to convert all or a part of your life and/or disability coverage to an individual plan within 31 days of your employment ending. For more details, please contact your Plan Administrator or Benefit Advisor.
