If you currently have (or have had) any of the following illnesses or conditions, you are ineligible for critical illness insurance with RBC Insurance®. If you have had one of the illnesses or conditions below, please talk to an RBC Insurance advisor to discuss other insurance solutions that may be available to you.

  • AIDS (AIDS-related disease or HIV positive)
  • Alcohol abuse (within past two years)
  • Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS); known as Lou Gehrig disease
  • Alzheimer disease
  • Angina
  • Angioplasty
  • Blindness (may be excluded)
  • Cancer1
  • Chronic hepatitis (other than type A)
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Colon polyps2
  • Coronary artery bypass surgery
  • Cystic fibrosis
  • Deafness (may be excluded)
  • Diabetes (insulin dependent)
  • Heart attack
  • Huntington’s chorea
  • Kidney failure
  • Major organ transplant
