Trip Interruption Insurance – After Departure covers the costs you would incur if you have to return home earlier or later than you originally planned. It also reimburses you for any non-refundable portions of unused, prepaid travel arrangements. Both benefits are covered up to a combined maximum of $1,500 (for trips costing up to $1,400). It also reimburses you for any non-refundable portions of unused, prepaid travel arrangements up to the sum insured for Trip Cancellation-Before Departure (for trips costing over $1,400).

Trip Cancellation Insurance – Before Departure covers the non-refundable portion (i.e. deposits or cancellation charges) of your prepaid travel arrangements. It also allows you to recoup any cancellation penalties that a transportation carrier or tour operator may charge you.

Subsistence Allowance Insurance reimburses you for extra expenses that result from one of the specified situations occurring. Such expenses can include your commercial accommodations and meals, essential phone calls, internet usage fees and taxi fares (or rental car) up to the specific maximum for your policy. Some conditions apply.

This insurance is subject to a maximum of $20,000 if you do not have valid government health plan coverage in force for the full length of your trip.
